The best bull stock pickers 2007-01-12
By SumOfSome | January 12, 2008
I have created a new report which tracks the performance of the market expert picks and stock screens during bull periods. To define the bull period, I assumed the S&P grows at 10% annually. Using this assumption, if the S&P rose by more than 10%/26 in a 2 week period, 10%/5.2 in a 10 week period, 10%/2 in a 26 week period, or 10%/1 in a 52 week period, I considered that a bull period. If it was below this level, it was considered a bear period. I then collected all data which fit in this bull period and used the same formula as I used for the Lifetime Performance score to create a Bull Performance score, with this as the result
| Screen - Analyst | Score |
|---|---|
| The Street - Fast Growth | 16 |
| The Street - All Around | 15 |
| Future Blue Chips | 10 |
| Screen of Screens | 9 |
| MSN Stock Scouter | 9 |
| Fool - CAPS Rated | 3 |
| Jubak Journal | 1 |
| MarketWatch Most | 0 |
| Fool - CAPS Leader | 0 |
| CNN Sivy 70 | -2 |
| ClearStation ClearPick | -2 |
| ClearStation ClearPick | -3 |
| Martin Zweig Mimic | -4 |
| Briefing Active Portfolio | -4 |
| Warren Buffett Mimic | -11 |
| ClearStation Community | -30 |
I will soon be adding a Bear Performance score as well, and will likely provided a consolidated report showing each of these scoring methods.
